DIY Mirror

Following in the theme of decoupage DIY, I have given my bedroom mirror a new lease of life. Before it's makeover, it had a boring brown frame and had a crack in the bottom left corner (for the record, I broke it over a year ago and, touch wood, I haven't had any bad luck!)

You can only just see the crack in this photo...

I chose to paint the frame using a similar shade of green as is on my lantern (see the following post  http://emilysummers-designer.blogspot.com/2011/04/day-6.html).

I then decided to keep the vintage decoupage theme that I used on my dresser http://emilysummers-designer.blogspot.com/2011/04/decoupage-dresser.html
I used the butterfly images in black and white (with diluted shades of purple in some places). I used the shape and position of the butterflies to cover up the crack in the glass. I had to be much more precise with my gluing and varnishing so I wouldn't mark the surface of the mirror. I used masking tape to protect it.

The photos aren't brilliant-it's trickier than it looks, photographing a mirror!! It certainly looks more interesting than it did before anyway!

Now, what's next..?
